Group Results In Access Query. For more information see Display column totals in a datasheet using a Totals row. Start the query by adding the tables you want to summarize to the Diagram pane.
This option lets you calculate a sum average count or other aggregate for a field. Leave the query open. In Access you use the GROUP BY clause to define a totals query.
Select View in the Results group and choose SQL View.
Access hides the query design window and shows the SQL view object tab. Make calculations based on your data. Choose Ascending from the Sort Order columns drop-down list. Add a total to a field.
